Cape Town Hotel
There is a unique Cape Town Hotel situated in a picturesque valley beneath the Silvermine Nature Reserve. It is an ideal hotel for anyone who wants a little peace and tranquility away from the hustle bustle of the city lights. The de Noordhoek Hotel is set back from Noordhoek Drive in the confines of the Noordhoek Farm Village, a quaint collection of excellent restaurants, craft and souvenir shops, artists and a superb delicatessen. The easiest way to get to this Cape Town Hotel is normally along Chapman’s Peak Drive, but at the time of writing this was closed for extensive maintenance and not expected to re-open for several months.
The Cape Peninsula is different from the rest of Cape Town. The area around Noordhoek has become a haven for artists and craftsmen, small farms and horses. The de Noordhoek is a newly built Cape Town Hotel and features such thins as solar heated hot water, CFL light globes, recycling of all waste, and a splendid enclosed fynbos garden. The hotel offers some of the Western Cape’s finest accommodation, and the staff are friendly and approachable. The twenty standard double rooms are all tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable, with crisp white linen sheets on the beds. Four of the rooms in this Cape Town Hotel are totally accessible by wheelchair, and their en suite bathrooms have special wheelchair-friendly features such as low light switches and clutch rails, and another eight rooms have interleading doors, making them ideal for large families or large parties. When Sir Francis Drake described this region as “the fairest cape in all the world” he didn’t know what treasures and luxury lay beyond the spectacular mountains he could see from his ship.
