Cape Town International Boat Show
Coming up in late September is the annual Cape Town International Boat Show, which sets sail once again, for a four-day event, running from 24 to 27 September 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, stretching into the V&A Waterfront. Following in the wake of last year’s successful event, organizers this year have added an extra day for local and international boating fanatics to experience the very best in boating, water sports, lifestyle and leisure. The Boat Show offers a full view of things to do in, around and under the water. Whether you’re a seasoned or aspiring boater you’ll receive the entire boating spectrum in just one visit. Other astonishing tricks will enthrall and captivate your children. They’ll witness thrilling magic tricks as well as balloon art and face painting. The venue for this spectacular event is at the Bandstand in Noordhoek Farm Village – that’s directly opposite the main entrance to the de Noordhoek Hotel, ‘manor house’ to the village. Satori Camel Run
Right here in Noordhoek, Satori Athletics Club brings you a race that takes you through the heart of rural Noordhoek and environs. Surrounded by mountains, a stretch of Longbeach and then embarking upon a challenging experience into the Cape Point Vineyards, with a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Noordhoek Valley below. This is a race that you will be talking about in time to come. This is a beautiful and scenic race with a challenging edge. The race takes place on 9th September, and after the race you can enjoy the pleasures of the Noordhoek Farm Village. Experience four hours of non-stop rock on 5 September, when Heineken® in association with AMP Productions present Just Jinjer, Flat Stanley & aKing for one performance only at GrandWest’s Grand Arena. Globally, Just Jinjer have shared a stage with the likes of music greats U2, Live, the Goo Goo Dolls, the Crash Test Dummies, Hootie & the Blowfish, the Counting Crows & many more. That’s worth coming to Cape Town for, and what better place to stay than at the de Noordhoek Hotel. The hotel is located in Noordhoek Farm Village at the southern end of Chapman’s Peak Drive. Spring Fair at Noordhoek Farm Village
Celebrate Spring at Noordhoek Farm Village on Saturday 5th September at 1030. Flower arranging competition – kids should bring an interesting container for their arrangement – old Wellington boots, ceramic pots. There will be prizes for the winners. There’s home made lemonade, balloons and face painting. Carnival games will be on offer at minimal cost to test the co-ordination and motor skills of your little ones. Venue is The Bandstand, Noordhoek Farm Village – that’s right opposite the main entrance of the de Noordhoek Hotel, the Peninsula’s newest boutique hotel.
