False Bay Underwater diving

The False Bay waters off Fish Hoek offer some of the finest opportunities in the Western Cape for underwater diving. The area from Jaeger’s Walk to Glencairn has been declared a marine reserve. Diving spots include Sunny Cove, located on the southern side of Fish Hoek Bay, and the Quarry, 2 kilometres South of the village. There is an interactive CD-ROM available from information offices in the Southern Peninsula detailing some 48 different dive sites. The waters of False Bay can be crystal clear at times – this is an excellent place to dive and is only a short drive from Noordhoek and the De Noordhoek Hotel.

Dave Ferguson on the Roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel

It’s not often that we get the chance of hearing some good blues music. Dave Ferguson’s solo show, uses only harmonica, human beat-box and vocals doing a mixture of originals and some Blues/Americana numbers. Foot tapping stuff! He plays on the roof of the Grand Daddy Theatre from 17.30 to 19.30 on 14th August, and so a perfect way to get into the weekend groove. Full Bar open! Winter Wonderland at Noordhoek Farm Village

The Kids will love this! Celebrate winter by making edible snowmen or your own snow globe! Bring a jar and a personal trinket to make a snow scene in a bottle. It’s all about snow and the fluffy white stuff! This event for kids takes place on Saturday 22nd August at 1030am in the bandstand at Noordhoek Farm Village – opposite the front of the de Noordhoek Hotel. The Bandstand is fully enclosed and protected from the elements so kids will stay warm and drive.
